Description

The IOSH Offshore Group are pleased to host a new webinar titled 'Offshore Energy Emergency Response'.

The webinar content will include an overview of the HM Coastguard network, address some of the challenges facing SAR resources when operating in the harsh offshore environment, highlight training and exercises being undertaken to better understand and prepare for operations offshore, suggest ways to receive mutual support and to consider what developments may come in the future to assist with offshore emergency response.

SPEAKER: HM Coastguard Offshore Energy Liaison Officer.

Pete has worked for HM Coastguard for many years, qualified as a Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator, and has been actively involved in a number of high-profile major incidents. He spent time working with an emergency response training provider before moving to his current job where he acts as UK liaison between HM Coastguard and the offshore energy industries.  He is highly experienced in maritime operations and is a subject matter specialist on offshore energy SAR. He works closely with the major energy operators and support organisations, regulators and emergency services to ensure effective emergency response preparedness.

What's in it for you?

Delegates will hear from a current coastguard officer with extensive experience in preparation and response to offshore energy emergencies. The presentation will explain what HM Coastguard expect from the energy industries and how they are structured to respond to any emergencies. While focusing on UK procedures, delegates from other areas will benefit from attending to appreciate the overall challenges faced when operating in remote areas and the presentation will include work which has been undertaken across Europe and further afield. The UK is one of the leading countries with significant Oil and Gas and Offshore Renewables infrastructure and experience has been established since both industries were in their infancy.
