About this consultation

The Welsh Government is inviting responses on its consultation document A Strategic Framework for Welsh Agriculture.

Background

The proposals it contains have been developed jointly by the Welsh Government, Farmers Union of Wales, National Farmers Union Cymru, Country Landowners Association Cymru, the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board, the Dairy Development Centre, Hybu Cig Cymru, Wales Young Farmers Club and the Tenant Farmers Association Cymru. Other industry bodies have also contributed.

Proposed changes

The framework states its vision for a “prosperous, resilient agriculture industry”. It outlines proposals for joint-working to provide collective leadership, which are intended to move the industry forward in a unified manner, bringing together policies, plans and reviews.
