Paul Turnbull

Paul TurnbullPaul has worked in the offshore Oil and Gas sector since 2007, following a career in the UK Armed Forces. His first role was as an underwater engineer on multi-role survey vessels globally. After only a year he went on to manage multinational survey teams throughout the world for a further nine years for Gardline Geosurvey.

Career wise, in 2017 Paul chose to take up a new role as a ‘Offshore Client Representative’ with Lloyd’s Register. One that will continue to see him deploy on vessels but in the new role of client scrutiny and management of the contractor. This will enable Paul to continue to gain shop floor experience in Occupational Health & Safety but from a differing perspective and obligation. Moreover, Paul will be able to continue to coach and encourage others to adopt safer working practices at sea.

Paul is currently TechIOSH and is enrolled on the MSc in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management with Portsmouth University.

Now a established committee member having joined in 2016, Paul has recently taken on the role of ‘Joint Communications Coordinator’ with an emphasis on the Offshore Groups ‘Linked-In’ website.
