UK Sector Standardised Clothing Policy

29 September 2014

Those not working in the UK Sector may not be aware of this policy, effective 1 October 2014, which defines what is worn under survival suits while travelling in helicopters to offshore installations in UK waters. Three clothing layers are required in winter and 2 in summer, with the changeover linked to sea temperature.

For other global areas where survival suits are worn but where there is no similar policy or practices, the associated poster issued by Step Change provides a helpful template for passenger information, even though your detailed requirements may be different.
