Gary is a Technician Member of IOSH and a Member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, the Institute for Learning and the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Background

With over 35 years experience in West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Gary was an operational officer holding the rank of Divisional Officer and his specialist roles included fire safety (inspecting officer and enforcement), strategic management, fire investigation, training and human resources.

He has been actively involved in health and safety and fire safety training for many years.

Areas of specialism and interest

Gary is specifically interested in the legal dimension of fire safety and its application, the interest grew as a direct result of the Bradford Fire Disaster.

He is also keen to develop the group across the whole fire safety spectrum in order to use his experience and expertise in a pragmatic way for the benefit of all members.
