Chris Maxwell

First Class BSc (Hons) degree (Leeds) and PhD (Oxford) in Chemistry, NEBOSH Diploma, CMIOSH, International Certificate in Risk Management

Chris is currently Environmental, Health and Safety Leader for Boeing UK & EU. He has over 15 years of highly industrious experience in health and safety, following a PhD in Chemistry at Oxford University and a short career as a research chemist. Most of Chris’ experience has been within the Pharmaceutical research and manufacturing sector, although he ran his own consultancy for over 4 years advising a range of clients. For the last 3 years he has plied his trade in the defence and aviation sector, managing health and safety across Boeing’s 20 sites in the UK.

In addition to the AAG committee, Chris was Secretary of the IOSH Bristol & West Group for 2 years, and a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Environment health and safety committee for 8 years.

•    Implementation of EHS management systems ISO14001 and OHSAS18001
•    Chemical legislation including REACh

Outside of health and safety, Chris enjoys spending time with his 9 year old twin boys and 5 year old daughter.

If that wasn’t enough, he is a Level 2 UK Athletics and Triathlon coach, and competes in triathlon sports. Chris has represented Great Britain (Age group) at the World Triathlon Championships in Chicago and World Duathlon Championships in Spain.
