Message from the Chair

Welcome to the latest update from the Aviation and Aerospace Group Committee.

Over the past few months, the Aviation and Aerospace Group Committee has been working on a succession plan in order to continue to meet the governance requirements of IOSH Group Committees. This includes ensuring Chairs and Vice-Chairs hold office for no more than three years.

As part of this process, I will be stepping down as Chair at the end of 2017 and I am pleased to announce that Hannah Smith has been elected as the new Chair of the Aviation and Aerospace Group. Hannah is the Director of Risk Management and Assurance for Gama Aviation and a Chartered Member of IOSH.

Martin Brennan has been elected as Vice Chair of the Committee and is the Safety Manager of Technical Operations for the airline Norwegian.

I have been impressed with both Hannah and Martin’s passion, drive, knowledge and enthusiasm since joining the Committee and I leave the Committee knowing that it has been left in safe hands.

Hannah will be issuing her first Chair’s update in the next couple of months which will provide an update on the Committee’s plans and objectives for 2018 and beyond.

Finally, I would like to thank my Vice-Chair, Simon Harrison, and our Relationship Manager, Julie Littlejohns, for their contribution and support to the continued success of the Aviation and Aerospace Group over the past 3 years.
