The IOSH South West Branch event held at Boringdon Park Golf Club in Plymouth on 12th September 2017 featured a presentation on aspects of fire safety, with particular emphasis on fire safety at sports grounds and the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order. Download the event update.

A Branch meeting at which Kate Ansell, Senior Occupational Hygienist, gave a presentation on biological monitoring. The presentation is available to download.

June 2017

A Branch meeting at which Graham Parker, IOSH President, addressed the South West Branch and spoke about the IOSH vision and the WORK 2022 Strategy. You can now download the presentation.

Martin Temple CBE, Chair of the HSE followed the above presentation with a talk on the HSE Strategy and how the organisation was helping Great Britain to work well. Martin explained the importance of tackling the causes of ill health, also how an aging workforce might be more prone to health issues. New ways of working and new technology presents challenges for health and safety because of the sheer pace of change and the HSE must remain vigilant to issues on the horizon. The Strategy is available on the HSE website.

May 2017

A South West Branch event featuring a presentation on silica dust in support of the IOSH No Time to Lose campaign was held on 18 May 2017 in Plymouth. Guest speakers at this event were Phillip Baker of IOSH and Paul Mannell of HSE. The presentation (minus videos, which can be found on the IOSH YouTube channel) is available to download.
