Member Development

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Initial Professional Development (IPD)

The South Midlands Committee believe one our of key duties is to encourage members to develop their prospects by achieving Chartered Membership of IOSH, so we’ll do everything we can to provide members with the right guidance and support.

If you’re unsure on how to access or update your CPD we have Kerry Edwards (Branch Secretary) and Clive Werrett, our mentors who can help you with the process.

They particularly concentrate on helping new Graduate Members through Initial Professional Development (IPD) process to achieve Chartered status.

To find out more about the potential support available with CPD or IPD, please contact Kerry or Clive via: .

Depending on the route used to achieve Graduate membership, this can include advice on preparing:

  • Professional portfolios
  • For the open book assessment
  • For peer review interviews

Please see the following link for more general information on IPD.

If you’re just starting out and want more information, the IOSH website has a section dedicated to your professional development where you can find everything you need to know about IPD and CPD.
