IOSH (Singapore Branch) presentation at 30th Annual Conference of Asia-Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organization (APOSHO)

The 30th Annual Conference of Asia-Pacific Occupational Safety and Health Organization (APOSHO) hosted by KOSHA, was held in Seoul, Korea from May 31 to June 4 2015.

The conference was held concurrently with the 31st International Congress on Occupational Health. IOSH and its International (Singapore) Branch actively participated in the conference and presented a number of various presentations. This conference was meaningful for professionals in the occupational safety and health area to meet and share their experiences and knowledge on various OSH subjects.

IOSH Singapore Branch presented the case study “Safety & Health Video for Primary Schools in Singapore – Mainstreaming WSH into Education”. The Case study was presented by Mr. Bhupendra Singh Baliyan, Branch Vice Chairman. He shared the objective of introducing and the development of WSH into the education system for the primary school children. The main aim for this Safety and Health video and games project is to increase the awareness and create safety and health as a value right from the early years of education.

The idea of developing the safety and health videos and games were well received by the academia and industry at the conference who showed interest in exploring more on educating the students through media and video games.
