On 28 April 2015 Darren Brunton, IOSH Singapore Branch Chairman, attended the Workplace Safety & Health Division, Department of Labour, Brunei Darussalam ‘World Day Safety and Health at Work 2015’ seminar. Attended by VIP’s:- Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Laila Raja Mejar Jeneral Bersara Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Halbi Bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Deputy Minister, Ministry of Home Affairs, Brunei Darussalam and Yang Mulia, Hazmin Hatta Haji Hamzah, Acting Commissioner of Labour, Department of Labour, Ministry of Home Affairs, and approximately 100 delegates.

World Day Safety and Health at Work

Darren presented a 45 minute paper outlining IOSH contribution to development of Occupational Health and Safety cultures globally, which followed on with the awareness campaign ‘NO TIME TO LOSE’ briefing. The morning was well received by the delegates and it is hoped that future developments between IOSH UK, IOSH Singapore Branch, IOSH Members in Brunei and government authorities can continue as Brunei develops the national safety and health standards and builds their culture of prevention of work place accidents.
