With 40+ years’ experience across the construction industry, it is my goal to continue using my skills in Health and Safety together with my 2 years has one of HM Inspectors of Health and Safety (FOD) in Construction Division (HSE) based in the Birmingham Office.

I started off as a site engineer and worked my way up through site management which included site foreman, site manager, project manager and construction director. Health and Safety as played a big part within my entire career and my aim now is to bring in behavioral change ‘’ Hearts and Minds’’ - understanding your culture.

I have an in depth knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements together with a practical understanding of construction industry best practices combined with a commercial awareness of what is ‘’reasonably practicable’’ to comply with the law.

I am experienced in procurement of the supply chain which involved checking competency of contractors i.e. health & safety policies, risk assessments and method statements. I have experience in working with clients, which as involved holding office and site meetings.

I can work as part of a team or under my own initiative and I am not afraid to make decisions.

I have been a Planning Supervisor, CDM Coordinator and when the CDM Regulations 2015 came into force I have been a Principal Designer. Due to the type of companies I have worked for and the roles I was employed in I took on the duties of Client, Principal Designer, Designer, and Principal Contractor.

I am Grad IOSH and NEBOSH trained and until recently employed as HSE Inspector in construction carrying out all enforcement action where appropriate i.e. advice, notices, prosecutions, complaints, accident and incident investigations, auditing, training, inspecting license and non-license asbestos removal.

My CPD includes applying for Chartered IOSH and then gaining my Chartered membership in 2016 through IPD.
