What we do

The Healthcare Specialist Section was established in 2002 to provide a forum for health and safety professionals in the healthcare sector in Ireland to network and share ideas.

Our aims

  • Develop appropriate links and relationships with government, regulatory bodies and other relevant organisations
  • Seek a requirement for Chartered status for all new health and safety and non-clinical risk manager positions in the HSE – we're currently discussing this with the HSE's HR department
  • Develop IOSH representation on the newly formed HSE Health and Safety Advisory Group
  • Establish a subgroup (networking team) of safety practitioners for the intellectual and physical disability sector who will report to the section committee.

Healthcare documents can be access by clicking on the link to the Document Library
