Michelle Twigg

MSc CMIOSH - Committee Member

Michelle is a Safety and Occupational Hygiene Consultant at Park Health and Safety Partnerships and has been working in health and safety for 18 years, in a wide range of industries including nuclear, construction, waterways and volunteer-led charities. Michelle currently supports the East Midlands Branch committee on a job share basis with husband Graham. This arrangement means that they can both support the branch while balancing life with a young family.

Michelle became Tech SP in 2000 following the completion of the NEBOSH General and Construction certificates and became a chartered member in 2005. Michelle’s areas of interest include management systems and she is currently a member of the UK committee overseeing the development of ISO 45001 and is supporting the development of implementation guidance focusing on occupational health for BS 45004.

Michelle is also an active member of the East Midlands Working Well Together Group and regularly presents at learning events, focusing on ill health prevention to reduce the number of deaths due to health issues in the industry. Michelle’s particular interests are with preventing exposure to hazardous substances, especially asbestos, and work-related stress.
