James Chester

James started his career as an apprentice cabinetmaker working for a charity that provided day care services and woodwork training to adults with special needs and learning difficulties. During his ten years there, James worked his way up to Workshop Manager and took his first health and safety qualifications. When he was made redundant, James changed career paths and became a health and safety advisor for a CDM consultancy based in Norwich, where he took further qualifications in fire safety management. James then moved to an international insurance company where, amongst other tasks, he managed the company’s Global Health & Safety Business Standard and compliance processes. James is currently the Group Health & Safety Manager for NPS Property Consultants Ltd.

In his spare time, James is a big motorsport fan taking an interest in anything with wheels and a motor from Formula 1 to Motocross, enjoys playing adventure board games, and is an active member of his local church.
