Ivan Searle

Ivan SearleI worked briefly as an engineer following college before starting my career at British Sugar as a Process trainee in 1986.  Due to the nature of the sugar industry with an operational and maintenance period this enabled me to progress a multi disciplined career of process, engineering and project management through roles of technician, foreman, shift operations manager, engineering, operational and safety management roles.

At the beginning of 2010 I started my current role of Health and Safety Operations Manager at the Wissington Operational site and recently also taking on board responsibility for the environmental aspects for the site.

Working within an industry that presents such a broad spectrum of hazards has enabled me to gain a wide amount of expertise in most work place and occupational hazards.  The role has also given me the opportunity to gain a huge experience in developing and delivering a behavioural based safety program that is just starting its fourth year and working well.
