Carl Free

Carl Free new.jpgI have been in health and safety positions within Local Authorities since 2009 and enjoy the challenges of working in Councils that deliver a wide range of services to the local area and has a broad spectrum of health and safety hazards. No one day is the same and I’m regularly working with a number of different teams or visiting very different locations, such as the waste and recycling depot, sports centres, crematorium, CCTV centre or museum.

I have been able to gain valuable knowledge and experience along the way in my job and study to obtain a NEBOSH General Certificate. I recently completed my NVQ 5 in Health and Safety to further my continual professional development and obtained the NEBOSH Fire Certificate. My next ambition is to become a Chartered Member of IOSH.

Shortly after starting my career in health and safety, I began attending the East Anglia IOSH meetings, these were (and still are) extremely beneficial to me, gaining knowledge from the presentations, examples of good practice observed during trips to sites and networking with other health and safety professionals. This was part of the reason I joined the branch committee, to help provide that same experience for others.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, hiking, cycling, F1, video games, going to the cinema, and photography.
