IOSH – Caribbean Branch Hosts Branch Meeting and CPD/IPD workshop

The IOSH Caribbean Branch held its Branch Meeting on Friday 29th September 2017 from 17:30 – 20:00 at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The meeting was opened by Mr. Curt Cadet, IOSH CB Chair. Both members and non-members attended the meeting and were afforded the opportunity to meet with the Executive Committee of the Branch, and to receive information on all aspects of their IOSH online CPD and IPD processes.

This workshop was facilitated by Anthony Rocheford CFIOSH (IPD/CPD Coordinator and Mentor), Navin Ragoo CMIOSH (Vice Chair), and Jason Maitland CMIOSH (Secretary). They focused on the criteria for Chartered membership, different routes to Chartered membership, Initial Professional Development (IPD) procedure and the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme.

Discussions held were targeted on creating and updating members’ CPD Portfolio with Mr. Anthony Rocheford giving a demonstration to participants. Mr. Navin Ragoo shared the route to Charter status via Certified Safety Professional (CSP) & Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) to CMIOSH and Mr. Jason Maitland shared guidance on completing the Skills Development Portfolio and his experience at the peer review.

The IOSH CB Chair, Mr. Cadet, concluded the evening by thanking members for showing their interest by attending the event; and the facilitators for sharing their experiences and reviewing the IPD/CPD process with members.
