Overview

The IOSH Railway Group are delighted to announce their first Group webinar, taking place on 19 October 2016 on ‘The link between mental health, safety and confidential reporting.’ With this webinar, Aimee Skelly-Burgess, an Occupational Health and Safety Adviser with CIRAS and also a member of the IOSH Railway Group committee will be delivering this session alongside Chris Langer, Scheme Intelligence Manager at CIRAS.

Both employed by CIRAS, Aimee and Chris are presenting this free session to raise awareness of mental health in the rail industry and encourage people to talk about mental health and the effects on safety. They aim to break down the stigma of mental health in the transport industry, and will cover:

  • Statistics on mental health
  • The consequences of suffering from stress and anxiety
  • Potential negative effects on performance at work
  • Potential solutions, such as mindfulness exercises and talking to external parties

What's in it for you?

In attending this webinar delegates can expect to develop a better understanding of why people suffer from stress, what to do about it and how to spot the signs, as well as provide advice on mindfulness exercises that you can try in your own time.

Attendance at this webinar and any value gained can also be recorded in your CPD portfolio.

Who should attend

This webinar will benefit all staff within the rail industry regardless of level or grade.
