Overview

The presentation will be based on the lessons learnt from running an Incident Care Team following the Croydon tram crash which was managed by Great Western Railway (First Group) in conjunction with trained personnel from other train operating companies. In addition, this will cover business resilience and how the rail network must continue to operate during and after major incidents.

Speaker:

Charlotte Murray, Fire & Emergency Planning Manager, Great Western Railway

Charlotte has spent over 20 years in the rail industry and has been involved in Great Western Railway’s Incident Care Team for the past 14 years.  This has given her great visibility and understanding of how to manage a care team which is drawn from trained personnel in all positions of the organisation and how this impacts the wider business.

Charlotte sits on the Rail Delivery Group’s Emergency Planning Committee and Incident Care Team Committee and has had first-hand experience of dealing with the aftermath of major incidents and the impact on business resilience and continuity.
