Overview

Contract No. NE/2015/01 - Tseung Kwan O - Lam Tin Tunnel - Main Tunnel and Associated Works Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel (TKO-LT Tunnel) will meet the TKO external traffic demand as a result of continual development of TKO. TKO-LT Tunnel, together with the proposed Trunk Road T2 and Central Kowloon Route, will form the Route 6 which will provide an east-west express link between West Kowloon and TKO areas. The works include construction of the main tunnel of the TKO-LT Tunnel, construction of tunnel portal facilities and ventilation building at TKO, construction of slip roads, branch tunnels, viaducts, Lam Tin Interchange, tunnel portal facilities, ventilation building and administration building at Kwun Tong, and implementation of the associated building, civil, structural, marine, electrical and mechanical, landscaping and environmental protection and mitigation works.

The objective for the visit is for members to familiar with the safety measures for blast tunnel and the aforementioned works.

What's in it for you?

A CPD Certificate of 3 hours will be issued to each participant who has completed the entire duration of the visit. The participants shall collect their own attendance certificates (with the Institution’s stamp) at the end of the visit. Only certificates with the Institution’s stamp are considered as valid CPD certificates.

Who should attend

IOSH members are welcome. Admission is FREE but prior seat reservations are REQUIRED on a first-come-first-served basis.

What you need to know

The participants should bring their own wear safety helmets, highly visible vests, safety shoes for the site trip.

All participants should meet at Exit B2 of MTR Yau Tong station at 9:15 a.m.
