Session 1 and 2 of our journey through the risk assessment process looked at areas where risk assessments can get bogged down and considerations for carrying out basic risk assessment.

In this final session, we will be concentrating on when a more detailed or specific risk assessment is likely to be needed - giving examples and guidance on how this can be achieved, and the tools available to help the general safety and health practitioner.  In addition, we will be looking in more detail on how to ensure that risk assessments are transferred into a safe system of work and when and how they should be reviewed.

Our overview will include such specific assessments as:

  • Manual Handling
  • Noise
  • Vibration
  • Fire and explosion
  • Legionella
  • Pressure Systems
  • Lifting Operations
  • DSE
  • Work at height

As with all our events, we would welcome your involvement and feedback during and after the event.  Please feel free to bring along any specific assessments for discussion.

What's in it for you?

In many circumstances, and in low risk environments, a ‘basic’ risk assessment would be all that is required.  There are many circumstances where specific regulations introduce additional duties to assess and control risk.   As a H&S professional, we should have an awareness of when these specific assessments are required and where we made need guidance and assistance in carrying them out.

Who should attend

All H&S Professionals or those who have responsibilities to carry out or review risk assessments.

What you need to know

A buffet with hot and cold refreshments is provided from 5.30pm during the networking session. Ample free parking is available on site.
