Following on from our highly successful first session ‘the seven deadly sins’ we will be looking at focussing on the basics of Risk Assessment.

Modern health and safety management is based on the assessment of risk and, in the majority of cases, the assessment does not have to be complicated or bogged down with bureaucracy.

The aim of this event is to focus our thoughts on what should be considered as ‘suitable and sufficient’ in low to medium risk premises or ensure that, where ‘specific’ assessments are required, the basics are covered.

In this event we will be focussing on:

  • Understanding the basic legal duties to assess risk
  • Risk assessment terminology
  • Hazard identification in practice
  • What to record – the significant findings
  • The IOSH risk control hierarchy

We will also get the opportunity to put the above theory into practice during this event.
