Following his presentation at the 2018 annual IOSH conference, our speaker Ian Hynes, will present and answer questions on the topic of “Healthy, Safe, Effective” conversation management, and introduce an array of investigation and interviewing ‘tools’ that will add significant value to the H&S investigators role.

His presentation will include a ‘peek’ into the world of investigative interviewing, exploring such issues as:

  • Planning and Preparation
  • Forensic questioning styles
  • Active listening
  • Investigation and interview structure
  • Investigation biases
  • Self Administered Interviews (SAIs)
  • Investigation and interviewing accreditation
  • Critical Incident Response

Speaker: Ian Hynes, CEO at Intersol

Formerly the strategic investigative interview manager and advisor for the police, assuming his current position as the CEO of Intersol in 2014, Ian is passionate about investigation and interviewing standards and has developed strategies and managed interview tactics on numerous high stakes inquiries including H&S corporate manslaughter investigations.

Reviewing investigations internationally, a published author on investigation and interviewing, his advice has withstood scrutiny at the highest judicial level and under his executive, Intersol designed and rolled out the first regulated qualification to conduct investigative interviews, the latest to receive that qualification including H&S investigators from the rail, leisure, construction industries and, corporate lawyers.
