The HSE and Local Authorities conduct over 22000 health and safety inspections each year.
Find out how the enforcing authorities select premises for inspection and what the inspector is looking for when they conduct the inspection.
You will understand more about what constitutes a material breach of health and safety law (to decide on whether a visit is chargeable or not) and how inspectors make those decisions.
An overview of HSE’s sector priorities will be given and examples will be explored.

Nick Patience CMIOSH
Nick trained as a general nurse and worked in Accident and Emergency, Occupational Health (on a construction site), Intensive Care and Trauma Intensive Care.
