This one day course is about giving OSH professionals more confidence in developing their relationship and interactions with their board and directors through a deeper understanding of key aspects of good corporate governance and aligning this with the wider OSH context.

The course provides an opportunity for OSH professionals to think more strategically about OSH at board level, including from the perspective of board members. There is plenty of thought provoking discussion, along with useful signposts and food for thought; as well as the opportunity for delegates to exchange ideas and experience.

  • Key aspects of good corporate governance including important recent developments 
  • Valuable links between the ethos and benefits of good governance and OSH 
  • What a framework for good practice in corporate OSH governance looks like
  • Factors influencing the strategic OSH context and bigger picture 
  • How an OSH professional can influence their board through risk management, board OSH information, audit and assurance processes and the board annual OSH Review 
  • Opportunities for using ISO 45001:2018 strategically and linking it with good corporate OSH governance
  • Anticipating challenging questions that board members could ask about OSH
