  • Review some key requirements from an implementation perspective.

Speaker

A Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner, Ruth Wilkinson has BSc First Class Combined Honours in Health and Safety Management and Environmental Science and Technology at Aston University (2000-2004), and an MSc in The Science of Occupational Health, Safety and the Environment at the University of Birmingham (2007-2009). Ruth has worked in the automotive industry and more recently in local government at two local authorities. The most recent job role was Corporate Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager where Ruth was the head of the profession in the organisation. The role involved line management, leadership on health, safety and wellbeing, working strategically, advising and supporting a wide range of diverse occupational areas and developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the health and safety management system.

Ruth has worked for IOSH since September 2017 as Head of Health and Safety. This role requires Ruth to provide the occupational health and safety professional leadership to all levels of staff, supporting and advising all management teams, employees, volunteers and contractors in the UK and Globally in relation to IOSH work activities. Ruth's responsibilities include the development of the occupational health and safety management system. Ruth also sits on the Business Management Group at IOSH.
