The IOSH Financial Services Group is pleased to confirm details of another webinar being run on 31 January 2018, this time on sentencing update for health and safety prosecutions. Being delivered by Sally Roff, Partner and Head of Safety Health and Environment at DAC Beachcroft; as well as a committee member of the Group, Sally will be looking to educate and update you on the approach being taken to sentencing of health and safety offences.

Sally acts for blue chip UK and Global corporate clients as well as a number of Public Bodies and NHS Trusts.  She takes a holistic and client focused approach to developing case strategy and has significant experience in dealing with high profile and commercially sensitive matters which often have potential reputational / PR, HR and commercial implications. In addition, Sally regularly presents to Boards of Directors on the impact of regulatory prosecutions and is able to provide advice on practical and innovative solutions to regulatory issues. She provides tailored training services to both in house legal and operational, safety and compliance teams.

What's in it for you?

In delivering this webinar, Sally will be looking to:

  • Provide a brief review of the sentencing guidelines
  • discuss the approach being taken by regulators to sentencing
  • review sentencing decision taken by the courts and the impact of them, and;
  • discuss how actions taken in the immediate aftermath of an incident can affect sentences imposed.

In attending this webinar, you can expect to develop an improved understanding of how the courts approach sentencing for organisations convicted of health and safety offences, and how actions taken in the immediate aftermath of a health and safety incident can have positive and negative impacts on the penalty imposed.

This webinar would be suitable for all directors, finance directors and health and safety directors, as well as managers. It also has a cross sector relevance, so will be useful to those within a wide variety of industries, including construction and the food and drink industries.
