We currently have membership networks in the Caribbean, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, UAE, Oman, Qatar, the Isle of Man, Ireland and Singapore, as well as our UK networks.
Additionally, our 16 specialist industry groups are committed to providing a range of activities and networking opportunities to IOSH members around the world.
We collaborate with a number of international networks, and we are involved in a variety of projects that span the globe. Keep checking this page if you are looking for IOSH news from around the world.
Our global networks
As well as supporting our Hong Kong and Singapore branches with their activities in the region, we are an affiliate member of APOSHO, with IOSH Hong Kong now being a full member. We have been supporting local stakeholders, such as the BCA Academy, with their health and safety projects, and encouraging global companies like MTR to help us raise awareness about our campaigns.
We are working on a number of different projects in Europe; the IOSH NACs (New Accession Countries) Initiative plays a key role in supporting new EU member states, and candidate states in their drive to meet EU health and safety standards. Most recently, we participated in the inaugural conference of the Balkan Occupational Safety and Health Network, known as BALCanOSHnet.
We are a founding member of ENSHPO, the European Network of Safety and Health Professional Organisations, which aims to bring together health and safety professional organisation from across Europe.
Additionally, we support the IOSH Gibraltar Associate Branch, which has been very active in promoting the IOSH No Time to Lose campaign, despite being IOSH’s smallest network! If you would like to find out more, please email the IOSH Gibraltar Associate Branch.
We also support JOSHA, the Jersey Occupational Safety and Health Association, with sharing information on best practice and networking amongst local health and safety professionals.
IOSH has a partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to strengthen the drive to keep employees safe and healthy in emerging Europe and beyond. The organisations signed a memorandum of understanding in June 2016 and a series of activities are planned.
The Oman, Qatar and UAE branches act as a regional hub in the Middle East for health and safety practitioners. We also have several Country Coordinators, most notably in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, who help raise the profile of OSH locally.
As well as running one of our flagship events, the IOSH Middle East Annual Conference, we regularly support other events and conferences across the region.
Rest of the world
Our Caribbean Branch, launched in 2005, has made it its mission to reach out to as many members in the Caribbean Islands as possible, with the help of their Country Coordinators. Its members are always looking for ways to use technology to expand their reach, and provide more support to those members who aren’t close to a physical branch.
We participate in the ASSE and CSSE’s annual conferences, and have supported a variety of the ASSE’s global chapters with their events.
We are also a founding member of INSHPO (the International Network of Safety and Health Practitioner Organisations), which has now grown to include 14 member organisations in 11 countries.
