Our response to Government

IOSH today publishes its response to
the Lofstedt Review of health and safety in the UK, and our views
on the Government’s own response to it.
The Institution broadly welcomed the findings
of Professor Ragnar Lofstedt, who looked at 200 pieces of health
and safety law last year, but we are concerned about how the
Government plans to take forward his recommendations.
Our response is presented here as both a
brief
summary and a fuller
document, and is introduced in a video by IOSH executive
director of policy Dr Luise Vassie.
We also have links to relevant recent members’

the recent media coverage of our reaction to PM David Cameron’s
speech on the “health and safety monster”.
