Last chance to have your say on RIDDOR
25 March 2011
IOSH is asking members to help
shape its response to proposed changes in the way workplace
accidents and ill health are reported.
In February, the Government launched its consultation on Lord
Young’s recommended shake-up of RIDDOR, including a change in the
‘three-day injury’ rule.
IOSH responded by inviting members to send in their views – and
they did, in their hundreds. The comments we received were collated
and developed into a draft response document.
Now, we’d like our members to have the final say on that
response before it’s submitted to the Health and Safety
Executive.
We’re looking for positive input to improve our document so it
has a real impact on the policy reforms. You can let us know your
thoughts on any aspect of this response by logging on to the Member
Forums and visiting the 'Draft RIDDOR Response' forum.
Our call comes after the Government announced “a new start for
health and safety regulation for Britain’s businesses”.
IOSH’s Executive Director of Policy, Dr Luise Vassie, met
Minister of Employment the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP ahead of the
official announcement that he would be steering the Government
review.
