Members asked for comment on HSE guidance
18 April 2011
IOSH members will have the opportunity next month to comment on the
proposed new version of the HSE's HSG65.
The Executive is currently reviewing the guidance aimed at
making it more accessible for small businesses, managers and
owners. It will also be much shorter and linked to the new section
of the HSE website, which
will act as an 'information hub' on managing health and
safety.
The proposed changes to HSG65 will mean it takes more of a 'people
and outcome-centred' approach than a 'systems and process-centred'
one and is more closely aligned to the 'Plan, Do, Check, Act'
model.
Richard Jones, IOSH Policy and Technical Director, said: "This is
just an early alert to members about this forthcoming opportunity,
as we're keen for as many members as possible to respond to this
important development in one of HSE's most influential
publications.
"As soon as the new draft is available, we'll post it on our
consultation pages and invite members to comment."

HSG65, contact Richard Jones.
