Campaigns

IOSH is the largest health and safety professional body in the world - which means that when we and our members talk about an issue, people listen.

But we don't just point out a problem and demand change, we come up with solutions and we make things happen.

IOSH actively campaigns on four key areas:

• Rebalancing act - where we stand on the UK government review of health and safety
• Get the Best – making sure that only qualified people give safety advice
• Putting young workers first – improving health and safety for teenagers at work
• Back to health, back to work – tackling illness and return-to-work issues
• Stop taking the myth – challenging the 'elf 'n' safety' excuse

We also support a number of international initiatives, including European Week.

We raise awareness by:

• working with the media
• working with stakeholders
• presenting at conferences, exhibitions and other events
• sharing information through professional networks worldwide

We lobby politicians by:

• arranging meetings with MPs and Peers
• hosting events at Westminster with key MPs and stakeholders
• exhibiting at party conferences and holding fringe events.
