Last chance to enter European Good Practice Awards
14 September 2012
IOSH members have just days left to enter the prestigious European Good Practice Awards and get their work recognised across Europe. The deadline is 3 October 2012.
The awards are part of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work’s campaign, ‘Working together for risk prevention’, and have been designed to acknowledge examples of managers and employees working together to cut down accidents and ill health. Your entry could be anything from having a suggestion box where staff can report safety incidents, to offering language courses to employees who may not speak your national language, so they can understand healthy and safety advice.
If you win, you’ll be presented with your award at a ceremony in Dublin, in spring 2013. And your work will be marked in a special publication which will be widely distributed across Europe.
IOSH is also offering members the chance to win a free ticket to the IOSH 2013 Conference and Exhibition just by sending us a copy of their entry. We want to showcase your good practice on the IOSH website.
Jane White, IOSH Research and Information Services Manager, said: “If you’re an IOSH member and have an initiative that you’ve created or have contributed to, which highlights some fantastic examples of managers and employees working together for risk prevention, then why not apply. These awards are an excellent opportunity to shout about your work, and IOSH would like to hear about it.”
Make the most of Euro Week
Don’t forget, the European Week for Safety and Health at Work is starting on 22 October. You can use this week to promote the European campaign in your business – IOSH can provide you with free posters, leaflets and guides to help you bring it to life. You could also spotlight an issue, or start a new initiative in your organisation.
To enter the Awards and to get ideas about activities you could do in your organisation during Euro Week, visit the European campaign webpage.
