IOSH appoints development manager for Ireland
Friday, 30 January 2009
Norita Robinson has been appointed
development manager for Ireland.
Norita, who joined the Networks and International Directorate in
January, will oversee the development of IOSH's influence and
reputation in the country, as well as liaising with members and
officials.
Previously a business development manager with Quinn Healthcare,
Norita is a Fellow of the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute
(IAVI) and honorary secretary for the South East region.
She said:
"I'm delighted to be taking on this role and look
forward to helping IOSH achieve its aims in Ireland. Health and
safety is a vitally important subject which I feel should have a
higher profile.
"I'm looking forward to meeting and
working with IOSH members in Ireland, who play such an important
role in ensuring the health and safety of our workers in Ireland.
The fact that 57 workers still lost their lives in Irish workplaces
last year shows, however, that there's still much to do.
"I hope by enhancing IOSH's presence in
Ireland, we'll be able to play a key role in reducing the amount of
death and injury in workplaces."
