Membership fees

We welcome all new members to IOSH as Affiliate Members at a fee of £135, giving you immediate access to all the benefits of being an IOSH member for one year from the date of joining.

If you join online, you'll pay using our secure online payment facility. If you use a paper application form (PDF 45 KB), please follow the payment instructions on the form.

Once you've joined, we'll review your qualifications and experience against criteria outlined in the Royal Charter and Byelaws (PDF 76 KB). If you meet the relevant criteria, we'll recommend you become either a Technician or Graduate Member. All Technician and Graduate Members must take part in our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme to maintain their membership status and use their post-nominal letters.

Renewing your membership

The easiest way to renew your membership is online. If you're registered with MyIOSH, we'll let you know when your membership is due for renewal and you'll be able to renew quickly and securely online. Register your details on MyIOSH.

You can also renew your membership by post or by calling us.

If your normal currency is not sterling, it's best if you pay online by credit card. Your renewal fee will automatically be converted to sterling using the latest currency rates.

If you're paying in sterling, you can also pay the renewal fee by cheque or postal order (made payable to IOSH).

To pay in Euros or by bank draft, email our Membership team or call +44 (0)116 257 3198.

Free group subscription

As part of your membership subscription, you can join one of IOSH's groups for free.

What can groups offer you?

Groups offer you the chance to:

  • network with other professionals
  • play a part in sector-specific projects and initiatives
  • contribute to legal consultations that have a direct impact on your industry
  • help influence developments in your sector
  • get information and advice
  • share good practice.

Want to join more than one group?

There's a £10 charge for each additional group per year. You'll be able to attend all of your chosen groups' events and seminars for free, unless otherwise stated.

Free branch membership

Every member of IOSH can join the branch of their choice for free. Some members choose to belong to the branch nearest their home. Others choose to belong to the branch nearest their work – it's up to you.

You can visit any branch of IOSH you want to. So, if you're away on business and there's a branch meeting nearby, you'll be sure of a warm welcome if you decide to drop in.

Will your employer be paying your membership fees?

Please keep in mind:

  • we don't accept purchase orders or issue invoices for membership subscriptions
  • we're happy to accept company cheques as long as the member's name and membership number are written on the back of the cheque
  • we'll accept payment by company credit or debit card, either online or by telephone
  • we'll accept payment by BACs, provided the membership number is the payment reference – contact our Membership team for details
