The IOSH Rural Industries Group covers
agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fisheries, waterways,
conservation, equine activities, rural estate management, visitor
access to the countryside, rural recreation, and other businesses
which get their income from the rural economy.
The group has over 300 members and is mainly aimed at
professionals who work in isolation or remote locations in this
sector.
The group:
- runs sector-specific events
- sits on the Health and Safety Executive’s Agriculture Industry
Advisory Committee, its project groups and other committees to
influence and motivate the industry to improve health and safety
standards
- has compiled an advisory panel of members to offer a readily
available pool of knowledge for members to access
- works closely with other branches and groups, particularly the
Ireland Branch’s Rural Industries Section
