Steve Clark
IOSH Retail and Distribution Group Chair (Dec 2010 to
date)
Steve's mantra for the group is all about 'value added' -
continuous improvement of the service that the group delivers to
its membership. He is a chartered member of the Institution and
brings 12 years health and safety experience to the committee,
gained in business services and logistics.
With a background that starts with the East Midlands Electricity
Board and includes a number of sales roles before moving into
transport with TDG and Exel Logistics. Eventually moving into
health and safety at Hays plc, Steve has also worked for TNT
Express, Bibby Distribution and Johnson Controls, a facilities
management company. He is currently the UK Safety & Health
Manager for Kuehne + Nagel Ltd a world leading freight forwarding
and logistics company globally employing around 55,000 people in
over 100 countries and headquartered in Switzerland with a turnover
in 2009 of 17,400 million Swiss Francs.
Steve is the group's Chair and is also responsible for the
Warehouse Forum which transferred from the HSE following the
publication of HSG76 Warehousing and storage: a guide to health and
safety. Steve joined the group as a visitor in 2005 and has never
been allowed to leave.
