Averting aggression at work
February 2010
Have you ever been in a situation where you
have suffered violence and aggression from a customer? If so, then
we have just the seminar for you!
IOSH is running a one-day event at the Imperial War Museum in
Manchester on 17 March 2010 for professionals in the retail and
distribution sector on this increasingly common problem.
Violence and aggression in the retail and distribution sector is
commonplace and IOSH is leading the campaign for workers’ rights to
a fair and safe work environment. This event will give attendees
the skills needed to reduce the likelihood of violent situations
developing and, if they do, to minimise the risk to themselves,
other staff and the public.
Through workshops held on key topics and presentations,
delegates will be able to learn from experiences of practitioners
working in various areas. The Health and Safety Executive’s policy
team on violence and aggression is supporting the event and an
update on equipment and guarding will be given.
After attending the event, delegates will be better equipped to
understand, identify and manage risks from violence and aggression
in the workplace – ensuring the working environment they
deserve.
Places are still available for this not-to-be-missed seminar.
Further information can be found by visiting the
event's booking page or you can contact Claire Davis, IOSH Networks
Events Organiser, on 0116 2573373. The cost for a full day
including lunch and refreshments is £88.13 for non-members and
£76.38 for IOSH members. The fee includes a museum visit during the
lunch break.
