(APSE)
APSE members are local authorities within the UK. The site includes
a Performance Networks section which includes roads, building works
and ground maintenance, fleet and cleansing.
Association of Local Authority Risk
Managers (ALARM)
Useful information but full access can only be gained by ALARM
members.
Audit Commission
The Audit Commission for England and Wales now incorporates the
Inspection Service.
Centre for
Corporate Responsibility(CCA)
The CCA is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes worker and
public safety. It is funded by the Joseph Rowntree Trust.
Contractors Health and Safety Assessment
Scheme (CHAS)
CHAS is a scheme for public service bodies that helps them to
assess contractors’ health and safety performance.
Employers
Organisation for local government (EO)
The EO provides advice on a range of people management and
development issues for local authorities and related employers.
HELA Circulars
HELA Circulars are issued to local authority enforcement officers
and contain lots of useful information that can be used by
others.
Maritime and Coast Guard
Agency
A UK government agency website, useful for those who have Sea
Fisheries Protection Units etc. Sea-going versions of health and
safety regulations can be downloaded.
NASHiCS
The National Association for Safety and Health in Care Services
(NASHiCS) is open to all those who are interested in health and
safety in the social care sector. The website contains news and
events pages, a Members Area, a picture gallery and joining details
among other items.
National Audit Office
The National Audit Office is an independent body that scrutinises
spending in the public sector on behalf of UK central
government.
Patient UK
A site edited by two UK general practitioners (GPs) with links to
useful, simple information about medical problems.
Police health and
safety
A Home Office site including health and safety training and risk
assessment for the Police Service.
Safe and healthy
working
Safe and Healthy Working is part of the Scottish Centre for Healthy
Working Lives and provides a free and confidential occupational
health and safety service for small and medium sized enterprises in
Scotland.
