The aim of Oil & Gas UK is to strengthen the long-term health of the offshore oil and gas industry in the United Kingdom by working closely with companies across the entire sector, governments and other stakeholders to address the important issues. Step Change in Safety is part of OGUK but there is also an OGUK publications page with a range of additional guidance (see the publications beginning HS...).

The International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) represents the worldwide oil and gas drilling industry. IADC’s mission is to improve industry health, safety and environmental practices; advance drilling and completion technology; and champion responsible standards, practices, legislation and regulations that provide for safe, efficient and environmentally sound drilling operations worldwide. Through conferences, training seminars, print and electronic publications, and a comprehensive network of technical publications, IADC continually fosters education and communication within the upstream petroleum industry. The HSE webpage gives access to IADC Safety Alerts, safety case guidelines, training standards, etc.

The Marine Safety Forum actively promotes good practices and initiatives to promote safety within the marine sector of the Northern European oil and gas industry. Lots of Safety Alerts , vessel checklists and other publications..

The Offshore Industry Advisory Committee (OIAC) is a tripartite committee. OIAC includes members representing employers, employees, unions, trade associations and other government departments.

The Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR) is a register of consultants who can offer general advice to UK businesses to help them manage health and safety risks. All consultants who join the register are bound by their professional body code of conduct and are committed to providing sensible and proportionate advice.

The Safety and Loss Prevention Group of the Institution of Chemical Engineers provides a network for all those interested in safety within the process industries. Process safety transcends disciplinary boundaries and concerns a wide range of professionals including chemical, mechanical and electrical engineers, pure scientists and even accountants. Their webpage includes current news, events and access to a range of resources, including historical HSE major accident investigations.
