Welcome

Fire Risk Management Group banner

The IOSH Fire Risk Management Group has over 3,000 members, and caters for all health and safety professionals whose job includes, or who have an interest in, managing risks from fire.

Our main focus is on fire risk management and emergency response. We host regular networking events for members in the UK and Ireland, and have developed a certificate course for fire risk safety. You'll find the latest sector-specific news on these webpages.

Networking events

Regional events are planned throughout each year to provide interesting CPD opportunities for our wider membership in our three year networking events plan.

The theme for 2012 is 'Managing Fire Risk in a Licensed Environment' following the high number of fires and prosecutions involving licensed premises during 2011.

Our intention is to host events in Birmingham in June and Manchester in October to focus upon the variety of challenges relating to the management of fire safety in licensed premises such as:

  • management and staff training
  • fire risk assessment
  • fire and rescue service audit
  • challenges presented by multi-occupied premises

Further details will be posted on the group events page once they have been finalised.

We also intend to host a webinar for our international members in Hong Kong, Singapore and the Middle East.

Networking events are open to members and non-members. All events are advertised in the IOSH e-newsletter Connect, on our webpage and on the main IOSH events webpage. We endeavour to keep the delegate costs low by using local speakers discussing local and regional issues.

If you or your organisation can help us by providing a suitable venue, speaker, or by sponsoring an event, we'd be very pleased to hear from you.

The success of our group depends on the involvement of its wider membership. The more you take part, the greater our achievements can be. We value your feedback and suggestions, so if you have any comments, please contact us.
