IOSH 2012
EWMG Committee Member, Andy Robertson, presented at the
IOSH 2012
theatre, on 07 March 2012 on the subject topic of Waste Duty of
Care.
The Government's Red Tape Challenge and the Environment Agency's
Electronic Duty of Care were discussed, with plenty of debate
generated among the audience.
Free templates and references, produced by Andy to help when
developing Duty of Care programmes and audit reports, can be
downloaded by Group members from the Document Library, in the Members Area.
Water Pollution Event
Environmental & Waste Management Group
members met at a highly interesting and informative networking
event held at Anglian Water’s Education Centre at Chelmsford Sewage
Treatment Centre on 28 March 2012.
As well as the networking opportunity, Group
members (including Group Chair, Joe Taylor and Group Committee
Member, Andy Robertson) were given presentations on the
hydrological cycle, trade effluent control and legislation and
fats, oils, grease and non-flushables before being given a tour of
site operations. Technical experts from Anglian Water were able to
answer a plethora of questions / queries from Group members, who
will now be able to apply their new knowledge back in the
workplace.
