Strategy
The strategy of the Construction Group is
centred around providing an expert networking resource for our
members in the industry, and by making a positive
contribution by promoting and influencing best practice in
health and safety. Our plan is based on a
three-pronged strategy:
1 To contribute to the national effort to save lives and
reduce work-related accidents and ill health in construction.
2 To improve our communications with members and
stakeholders
3 To identify and promote best practice in construction
health and safety
Our operational aims have a strong emphasis on communications.
We the Construction Group will represent the best interests of our
members, liaising with external agencies and other professional
bodies. We aim to be recognised as a centre of excellence for
construction health and safety at work and collaborate with others
to influence health and safety practice throughout the construction
industry. For example:
1 We will have a strong presence at the annual IOSH
exhibition, offering surgery-style sessions for members
2 We will continue to build on our close links with the
IOSJH Environmental and Waste Management Group
3 We will continue to review and strengthen our links with
other stakeholders
Details of the programs we are adopting to achieve the group
objectives, including working parties, special projects, support
groups and work being undertaken to address changes in the
industry, can be found in our strategy
section.
Each committee member has a champion role to fulfil and is
assisted by a support team. Learn more about our Committee members and their Champion roles.
