Deirdre is the Corporate Health &
Safety Advisor for the Aer Lingus group, an Irish Aviation company
with 3500 staff, a fleet of 44 aircraft flying to over 80
destinations worldwide.
Deirdre qualified as State registered nurse and is a graduate of
the University College Dublin. She has over 25 years
experience as a Health and Safety practitioner in the aviation
business.
As Corporate HS advisor she has responsibility for developing
health and safety approaches across a diverse business, which has
included working actively on absence reduction specifically in the
area of musculoskeletal health.
Deirdre was one of the employer representatives on the Advisory
group, chaired by the Projects manager for the Health and Safety
Authority, which included experts in the area of ergonomics and
manual handling, who developed manual handling standards for
training in Ireland.
Deirdre is a committee member of the Eastern IOSH Branch of
Ireland.
