Association of European Airlines   AEA   AEA brings together 33 major airlines, and has been the trusted voice of the European airline industry for over 50 years.
European Aviation Group for Occupational Safety & Health    EAGOSH   EAGOSH is an organisation committed to the promulgation of a safe place of work, safe plant and machinery, safe work procedures and safe people working in the aviation industry.
European Aviation Safety Agency    EASA   The European Aviation Safety Agency promotes the highest common standards of safety and environmental protection in civil aviation in Europe and worldwide. It is the centrepiece of a new regulatory system which provides for a single European market in the aviation industry.
European Civil Aviation Conference    ECAC   The ECAC seeks to harmonise civil aviation policies and practices amongst its Member States and, at the same time, promote understanding on policy matters between its Member States and other parts of the world.
European Commercial Safety Team    ECAST   The European Commercial Aviation Safety Team (ECAST) is a component of European Strategic Safety Initiative (ESSI). ECAST addresses large fixed wing aircraft operations, and aims to further enhance commercial aviation safety in Europe and for European citizen worldwide.
European Low Fares Airline Association   ELFAA   ELFAA Mission Statement is to ensure that European policy and legislation promote free and equal competition to enable the continued growth and development of low fares into the future, allowing a greater number of people to travel by air.
European Regional Airlines Association   ERAA   Is the principal body that represents the interests of organisations involved in intra-European air transport.
European Strategic Safety Initiative   ESSI   The European Strategic Safety Initiative (ESSI) is an aviation safety partnership between (EASA), other regulators and the industry. ESSI’s objective is to further enhance safety for citizens in Europe and worldwide through safety analysis, implementation of cost effective action plans, and coordination with other safety initiatives worldwide
Joint Aviation Authorities   JAA   The JAA's work began in 1970 (when it was known as the Joint Airworthiness Authorities).  Originally its objectives were only to produce common certification codes for large aeroplanes and for engines
Joint Aviation Requirements for Operational activities   JAR Ops    Now replaced by EU-OPS
