Welcome

On behalf of the Executive Committee I would like to welcome you to the Yorkshire Branch micro-website. Hopefully you will find our site helpful, informative and a good way of staying in touch with the Branch and other IOSH activities.

The aim of the Branch is to support its members in their professional activities and in their professional development. To this end the Yorkshire Branch holds monthly meetings, from January to November, where members can meet and network in an informal friendly atmosphere. Whilst our meetings are primarily for IOSH members they are also open to anyone with an interest in health and safety.

Recent topics and presentations have included legal updates, contractor management, occupational health, construction, LEV and respiratory hazards and environmental topics. These provide those attending with opportunities to develop or fine tune their health and safety knowledge and skills.

I am supported in my role as Branch Chair by an active, supportive and enthusiastic Executive Committee of volunteers who work hard to benefit members and provide the best development opportunities. Support is available when mentoring is required, just to help with CPD and IPD, or even just for friendly advice. A mentor drop in session is generally available to give advice and guidance before each Branch meeting.
