Smart ways to save the world and money
February 2010
If you want to learn about smart ways to
save money and reduce waste at the same time, then an event taking
place in Glasgow could help.
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) West of
Scotland Branch have arranged for the Chartered Institution of
Wastes Management (CIWM) Waste Awareness Certificate (Construction)
to be delivered at Hampden Park Stadium on 22 February.
The certificate, a one-day foundation course, aims to help those
working in the construction and demolition sector to improve their
management of waste materials. This not only helps save the planet,
but can also help save vital money.
Among the areas the course will cover are:
- what is waste?
- managing and minimising waste
- laws and guidance
- the construction waste chain and its influence on resources and
waste management
- skip standards
- site waste management plans
- exemptions.
Tickets for the event cost £ £130 + VAT. To book your place,
please contact Sue
Phillips on +44 (0)116 257 3243.
