AMBERLEY MUSEUM AND HERITAGE CENTRE
Many
of those who have attended recent branch meetings will be aware
that we are currently formulating a Community Project with Amberley Museum and Heritage
Centre (AMHC). Discussions with the management team at AMHC and
the steering group consisting of Malcolm Pink, Ken Stacey and Steve
Granger are now well advanced and we have recently heard from The
Grange that the insurance position for the project has been
clarified.
At present, the document setting out the mechanics of the
relationship and how things will operate are being considered and
it is anticipated that this should be ratified by both sides over
the next few weeks.
Once this is completed, the steering group
will bring to the branch the full programme for AMHC to look for
volunteers to assist in completing the project.
However, in the meantime, if there are any branch members who
wish to become volunteers at AMHC in a personal capacity, they will
of course be very welcome and should contact Malcolm Pink in the
first instance.
December 09 - Update
It seems that we, that is Ken, Steve and I now
joined by John Sharp have been on this Amberley Project forever, in
fact it is just over eighteen months!
At the South Downs December branch
meeting John Sharp, on our behalf, made a plea for
volunteers to help out on the Project in the New Year.
We are actually nearing the commencement of
showing members of our own Health & Safety industry and
Amberley Museum management, staff and volunteers how positive,
enjoyable, interesting, rewarding and dare I say fun - that a
positive attitude to health & safety can be.
Well that is the plan and therein lies the
challenge! Without doubt this is certainly the biggest challenge I
have taken on in the field of Health & Safety. Which ever way
it goes it is likely to be the last. Challenge I mean!
We have almost reached the stage where we can actually start
doing some tangible work which hopefully will be in the new
year.
In the meantime we have attached a copy of our first project
report and a copy of a volunteer form to
keep you all informed as well as doing a spot of fishing to
see how many volunteers we could catch.
If you would like to get involved in our project and you
are happy to volunteer your services what ever they may be, then
please download a copy of our volunteer form, complete and
return to Malcolm
Pink.
