Community team
Objective
Our objective is to increase the awareness of IOSH
throughout the branch area in all parts of the
community, especially in relation to public authorities,
public service providers and education providers. This will
extend to connection with other external professional bodies.
Welcome to the Community Team Page. As you will see from the
Team Objective set out above, our brief is to take IOSH out into
the community and in so doing assist the branch in driving forward
IOSH’s larger Strategic Priorities of raising our profile and
influence, increasing the branch membership, developing people and
leading occupational health and safety thought in the
community.
This is of course a large brief and the Team, led by Mike Martin
who has many years of working in a range of positions throughout
public and community organisations, is focused on how best to
achieve the maximum impact as quickly as possible.
Mike is supported by Steve Andrews who is currently an internal
health and safety advisor for Arun District Council and Mike
Flannery, a consultant who has worked with a number of public and
community bodies over the years.
We are looking at two specific projects at present Amberley
Museum Project and how best to engage with our Local Authority and
Public Bodies in our area.
However, we would welcome suggestions from branch members
concerning how we may be able to get over our message or where you
may consider help from the South Downs branch may be of
assistance.
